Stacie, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this! I'm a flight attendant of 17 years, and I'm always complimenting parents of well-behaved kids since they're so rare these days! When I was young, flying was a huge thrill for which we dressed up and didn't dare misbehave.....those days are LONG gone. What never ceases to amaze me, though, are the people (young and old) who go into aircraft lavatories with no shoes. I literally stop people and tell them that those drops on the floor are not always from the sink, but 99% percent of them shrug their shoulders at me and go right in....

You don't deserve an award for doing what parents should do. It is your responsibility to teach your children to be well-behaved.

Well said Stacie! Kids don't just pop out with perfect plane manners. It's a life skill that needs to be learned just like eating with a fork or putting on your pants. Practice makes perfect. Yes there will be tantrums and set backs but too bad. Obviously nobody took the time to teach this woman some manners. Some where she learned to get what she wants by whining!

Stacie, you go girl. I once did 17 hours with my two kids, 10 of which were tantrums. It is awful for everyone, but particularly the parents.

I totally agree with you. And I´m the luckiest mom who had a baby girl who nobody heard in a 16 hours flight overseas. Yeah! I always plan to have plenty of stuff for them to do on planes. Even Play doh, it was a success with my kids and the teenager girl next to them. But I see those people too. The kids hater. I've seen worst: I've seen the lonely woman who looks at you with anger, almost hate, when you take a bus back home from work and you get a seat because you're pregnant...
