Warm Vanilla and Chocolate Salt Scrub & ‘Sugar Mama’ Lip Exfoliator

Posted by: on December 11th, 2012

I really love sugar scrubs but I recently tried a salt body scrub and loved it. You probably have the ingredients in your pantry right now so give it a try! I also made a lip exfoliator with honey and granulated sugar. If you’re vegan then you can switch out the honey with olive oil. Enjoy!

16 ounces epsom salt
1/3 cup light olive oil
3 tablespoons vanilla extract
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder

Put the epsom salt, olive oil, vanilla extract and cocoa powder into a medium bowl. Mix well and make sure to scrape the sides of the bowl. To apply: While in the shower, scoop the mixture out with your fingers and gently rub onto your skin, making sure to avoid your face. Rinse well. Apply moisurizer after your shower.

*Store the salt scrub mixture into an airtight container. If you’d like, omit the chocolate for a nice, warm vanilla salt scrub.

1 tsp. granulated sugar (or any sugar you prefer)
1 tsp. honey (you can substitute with 1/2 tsp. of olive oil)

Mix the sugar and honey in a small bowl. To apply: use your toothbrush or your fingers and apply to your lips. Gently rub the sugar mama exfoliator onto your lips. Rinse with warm water. Apply lip balm.

*Skin care tip: Don’t use a washcloth when washing your face. It can cause tiny tears in your skin. Always use a skin shammy when washing your face, like this one. It’s especially nice for people with sensitive skin.
