Red, White and Blue SangriaPosted by: Lauren Parker-Gill on May 22nd, 2013
This weekend marks the unofficial start of summer, which thrills me to no end. I have finally stopped shivering and I am all kinds of ready to dip my toes in the sand and the sea. In fact, I’ll be doing that this weekend when I head to the beach for a Memorial Day party. And for that, I will be making a Red, White and Blue Sangria that I found on (where else???) Pinterest!
Pineapple, cut into star shapes
2 bottles dry white wine
1 cup triple sec
1/2 cup berry-flavored vodka
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup simple syrup
Combine all of the fruit in a large pitcher and then pour liquid ingredients over top—stir well, and then chill in the fridge for at least 4 hours. For best results, I recommend making this the morning of your gathering, to allow the fruit to infuse the wine, vodka and triple sec for as long as possible.
While you’re enjoying barbeques and good times with your family and friends, be sure to take a moment to remember those who have given their lives to protect our freedom. Happy Memorial Day, Flicksters. Cheers!
