Love PotionPosted by: Lauren Parker-Gill on February 13th, 2013
Cupid and arrows, pink and red, hearts and flowers… Valentine’s Day is just so frilly, I LOVE IT! In fact, I am endlessly bitter that I wasn’t a Valentine’s baby – I was born on the 12th. If only I had held out for 2 more days, it would have completed the picture perfectly. (I was 35 yesterday. I don’t want to talk about it.)
ANYWAY, Happy Almost Valentine’s Day! I have planned 2 delicious dessert cocktails for you, my lovelies, and I am so excited to share them with you.
Love Potion Number 9
2 ounces of strawberry vodka
1 ounce of white (clear) crème de cacao
1 cup of fresh strawberries
2 scoops of vanilla ice cream
1 cup of ice
Extra strawberries for garnish
*Depending on the size of your blender, you may need to divide this recipe in half and make each one individually.
Pour the vodka, crème de cacao, strawberries, ice cream and ice into a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into chilled margarita or large wine goblet – top with whipped cream and add a strawberry for your garnish.
This next one is more simple, but delicious, nonetheless – AND it’s warm. YUM!
Steamy and Spiked Hot Chocolate
2 – 8 ounce mugs of piping hot chocolate
*2 shots (or more!) of Marshmallow vodka
(Hopefully by now, you all know how to make homemade hot chocolate. If not, grab a pack of instant and do your thang.)
Pour 1 shot of the marshmallow vodka into each mug and top with whipped cream. Drizzle with chocolate syrup and enjoy! *If you find that you don’t taste enough of the marshmallow vodka, add more! Nobody’s judging.
Happy Valentine’s Day to you and yours! Cheers!
