Hump Day Cocktail: Whipped Cherry Martini

Last week, I tried getting fancy and attempted to make a layered beverage for the 4th of July. It was supposed to be red, on white, on blue. Instead, it was a weird purple-y, red concoction that tasted worse than it looked. Needless to say, it did not work out. At all. In fact, we’re pretending it didn’t happen. Moving on!

Now because I despise quitting, I came up with my own martini. Now be careful, because this drink is all alcohol (which is good) so you might get quite a buzz going (also good), but don’t let it hit you too hard, or you’ll hate me in the morning. You have been warned.

Here is what I like to call the Whipped Cherry Martini!

Cherry flavored vodka (must be red)
Whipped cream flavored vodka (will be clear)
Whipped cream (for the rim)
Cherry flavored club soda (if you want to ease it up)

First, rim your martini glass in whipped cream. Then, pour equal parts of the cherry red vodka and whipped cream vodka over ice in a martini shaker. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds and strain into your martini glass. As I said before, this drink is not for the faint of heart – if it’s too strong for you, leave a little bit of room at the top of your martini glass for some plain or cherry flavored club soda to cut it down a bit. We won’t judge. Much. 😉
