Hump Day Cocktail: Purple Rain

I cannot drink this next cocktail without singing this song, in my best Prince voice, in my head:

I never meant to cause you any sorrow. I never meant to cause you any pain. I only wanted to one time see you laughing. I only wanted to see you laughing in the purple rain. Purple rain, purple rain.

Sorry about that, I’m done now. So did you guess what this cocktail is called? Did you? It’s the Purple Rain! The first time I ever had it was at P.J. Whelihan’s Pub and Restaurant and it was like drinking a purple Jolly Rancher. YUM! So OF COURSE, I had to try to make my own.

Ingredients:
1/2 shot of raspberry vodka
1/2 shot of Blue Curaco
1/2 shot of Chambord
Cranberry juice
Fresh raspberries, blackberries or blueberries

Directions:
Combine all of the liquid ingredients in a shaker filled with ice and strain into a martini glass with fresh berries at the bottom. Doesn’t that just sound delightful? Now sit back, relax and enjoy. Oh and good luck trying to get that song out of your head. Just TRY! Purple rain, purple rain. Purple rain, purple rain.

Cheers!
