Holiday Hump Day Cocktail: Celebratory Sangria!Posted by: Lauren Parker-Gill on December 26th, 2012
I’m all about good vibes on New Year’s Eve – I see it as starting the new year off right. So when I found this recipe for Celebratory Sangria, I knew this would be the one I’d make for my gathering this New Year’s Eve.
- 1 bottle chilled Dry White Wine
- 1 bottle chilled Champagne
- 3 oz.Damiana Liqueur
- 2 freshly sliced Pears
- 2 apples, sliced into small wedges
- 20 whole cloves
- 1 tsp. Ground Nutmeg
In a large pitcher, add the pears, apples, cloves and nutmeg, along with the Damiana liqueur and stir. Then add the chilled white wine and stir gently. Cover and refrigerate overnight. When you’re ready to serve, slowly pour in the champagne and stir it gently within the mixture. Serve in an ice-filled wineglass and toast to a wonderful new year with your family and friends. Cheers!
