Coconut Cream Sugar Scrub

I’ve been thinking about doing a meringue scrub for a while and the other night, I stopped procrastinating and came up with this sugar scrub recipe. The smell is amazing and it makes me think of being on a beach in Fiji, relaxing in the sand, and having Ryan Gosling bring me a Piña Colada.

1/3 cup coconut oil
1 cup granulated sugar
½ teaspoon coconut fragrance oil

In a bowl, mix the coconut oil with a mixer until it’s of whipped consistency. Add the fragrance oil and mix for about 30 seconds. Add the granulated sugar to the whipped coconut oil and mix until well blended. Spoon the mixture into a clean container with a tight fitting lid. Store in a cool, dark place for up to 4 weeks.

To use:
While in the shower, gently rub the sugar scrub into your skin in a circular motion. I prefer to use this scrub before I use a body wash, to help rid of any excess oil. Afterwards, don’t forget to moisturize and put on sunscreen. Enjoy!

Skin care tip:
If you want to know how much water your body needs a day, take your weight, divide it by 2, and that’s how many ounces you need a day. For example, 160 pounds divided by 2 would be 80 ounces of water. For every caffeinated drink you have, add 4 ounces to your daily water amount. I’m still trying to reach my daily water amount after all these years. I blame Starbucks!
