Cloud Dough!

Posted by: on September 17th, 2012

Cloud dough is a great sensory activity for preschool kids. It is moldable and feels silky smooth, so get out those sand toys. I made it late at night and ended up spending a good 20 minutes playing with it by myself…

It’s so much fun and smells great. Not only that, it’s not greasy so clean up is simple. I ended up mixing the ingredients in a large tupperware container with a lid. You could also use a large bowl to mix the ingredients. My daughter and I had a great time making ice cream cones, snowballs, and building sand castles with the cloud dough.

Felicity Huffman's What the Flicka? Elle Davis: Cloud DoughI let my daughter play with the dough inside, but I was right there with her so things didn’t get too messy and she was really good about keeping everything in the container. After we were done, I just put the lid on tight and stored it in a closet for the next time. Since I recently made it, I’m not sure how long it keeps. I imagine it depends on how much you play with the cloud dough…(I mean how much your kids play with it).

What you need:
8 cups of Flour
1 cup of baby oil

Directions:
Mix the flour and baby oil together with your hands in a large container until the dough holds together when squeezed. It took me about five minutes before the dough was mixed really well. I just used my hands and kneaded the cloud dough.
