It’s still chilly here on the East Coast, and I definitely needed a hot beverage to warm me up. The beautiful thing about this cocktail is how versatile it is. If it’s hot where you are? Serve it over ice! If it’s cold and blustery, leaving you to shiver like a tiny Chihuahua without a blanket? Serve it hot!
-1 cup of fresh, hot or cold, decaf coffee
-1 shot of dark rum
-1 – 2 tablespoons of fat free caramel sauce, to taste
-Low-fat whipped cream
Pour 1 – 2 tablespoons of caramel sauce into the bottom of your favorite coffee mug. If you want to be fancy and elegant, use a heatproof glass mug. Add 1 shot of dark rum and fill with coffee. Top with a dollop of whipped cream and swirl extra caramel sauce on top.
If you’re planning to serve the cocktail iced, allow coffee to cool, and then pour over ice into a coffee mug with caramel sauce and rum.
Whether you drink this hot by the fireplace or iced in the air conditioning, enjoy! Cheers!
