In The Age of Adaline, Blake Lively plays Adaline Bowman who inadvertently fulfills all of our dreams when she stops aging at 29, looking fabulous for the rest of time.
We may not be able to look like a 29-year-old forever (that ship has SAILED), but we can capture Adaline’s timeless style, if only with our hair. And since time isn’t unlimited (sigh), this five minute braid is the perfect solution for sending your kids out the door fast and with minimal effort. Success!
Step One: Begin by parting your hair down the middle to create two sections.
Step Two: Separate a piece from section one and cross it over to join section two. Then take a piece from section two and cross over to join section one.
Step Three: Repeat alternating crossed pieces.
Step Four: Once you’ve reached the end, tie off the braid.
Step Five: To create a fuller look, use your fingers to gently pull apart the braid.
Now you’ve created a classic, timeless look without sacrificing your (unfortunately limited) time.
Adaline has spent decades perfecting her signature style – because when you’re probably going to live forever, why not? After miraculously remaining 29 years old for almost eight decades, Adaline has lived a solitary existence, never allowing herself to get close to anyone who might reveal her secret. But a chance encounter with charismatic philanthropist Ellis Jones (Michiel Huisman) reignites her passion for life and romance. When a weekend with his parents (Harrison Ford and Kathy Baker) threatens to uncover the truth, Adaline makes a decision that will change her life forever.
